This package was a good value. The bus was just ok. The speaker was not always autiable which was frustrating.
Important: I did not see this written anywhere.
Once you make a purchase for the package, the bus (only) tickets come as a QR code immediately. It is activated for the period of time you selected, and the bus driver scans the QR code. All of the other tickets have to be picked up at their store location which is only open regular business hours.
We were very happy to learn the other tickets you pick up can be used at any time. So only the “bus” tour is really on the ‘48 or 72’ hour time limit. If you are staying on the Riverwalk… you probably will only do the bus once (so 24 hours would probably be sufficient).
The tower of America was nice. We went during the day. We wanted to watch the free 4D movie (at the bottom) about TX, but accidentally went in the theater time for Wonder Woman. It was still good, about 20 min long.
The grounds around the Tower of America are beautiful. There are many water falls, etc. Plan a little time to check them out.
We made a reservation for dinner in the top of the tower (Chart House) on another night at 7:45pm which was perfect timing for the sun set and to see the city lights at dark. The restaraunt rotates inside (so you will not see it move from outside),. The rotation allows everyone eating to have a great view of the city. Dinner at the Chart House is a 3-hour event, but well worth it. About $70 per person without drinks and appitizers. If you are not eating here, you may want to use your Tower of America tickets when the sun sets.
Boat ride was good. We did it in the heat of the day tho. I wish we went around 7 pm.
We got the “super” tickets that included the Buckhorn and Texas Ranger Museam. Whixh was bigger than we anticipated. It was worth the trip.
We wish we had watched the Alamo movie in the mall, but they only showed the movie a couple of times around 12 and 2.
Have fun!
