Kathy was great and the tour was great. Our group consisted of half tourists and half locals. Kathy is very nice and has a lot to share with you, but she encourage all kinds of questions and discussion going among the group, which makes it "It's Your tour!" as she puts it :) We talked about all things from history to culture to local attractions and daily lifestyles as well as LGBT issues. The experience is very lively, not a stiff touristy tour. If you don't know much about Castro and LGBT, come. If you do, come and have interesting discussions. Lasts 2.5 hours, long enough, but you can save some time to visit the small LGBT Museum afterwards.

I highly recommend this tour for anyone wanting and/or needing to learn the history and significance of the Castro to not only San Francisco but to the greater LGBT movement in the United States. Our guide, Kathy, was great. She was very informative detailing each stop on the tour but we could tell she was also very much a part of the neighborhood warmly talking to friends and associates as we walked along. I will recommend this tour to anyone coming to San Francisco but will especially recommend this tour to those who have not heard of the Castro or are unaware of the neighborhood's historical and ongoing significance.

We met as arranged at Harvey Milk Plaza at 10am. The group was small and then out of nowhere Kathy appeared and made us feel welcome and at ease. After spending some time there we headed off around Castro with bits of info and trivia along the way. Kathy seemed interested in all of us and spent time with each one of us to hear our own story. The tour itself was around 2 hrs although no one was clock watching and by the end the sun was coming out which set us up for the rest of the day.
