The tour was awesome! I was ignorant to the history of this unique neighborhood and the wonderful community that call the Castro home. I learned a lot and appreciated the genuine interest Kathy showed to every individual in our group. Her knowledge of the Castro is vast and she touched on many important topics that extend beyond the neighborhood. There were several stops along the way that peeked our interest and we returned once the tour was over. I would recommend this tour be included on anyone's trip to San Francisco.

I booked this 2-hour walking tour for myself and my teenage son during a weekend visit. Kathy is a personable, intelligent, knowledgeable, and warm guide who manages to make learning about the Castro neighborhood both fun and impactful. She knows the area and the residents well, and made all on our eclectic tour feel welcome. The time flew by. Highly recommended, whether you think you know a lot about The Castro, or if you’re brand-new to it.

Kathy is a lovely women who has lived though many personal changes in her lifestyle preferences which she shares with you--to educate us about the diverse culture of the Castro. She gives you the historical perspective of how the community developed and how the changes of diversity has been the strength of the neighborhood. The story of Harvey Milk is highlighted and even after knowing the story I was impressed by his impact while he was only in office 11 months. The flags, the pronouns, colors are all explained. There were people from London, Australia, India and elsewhere on our town- some gay some straight. It was an easy tour physically. I appreciated the stop at the restaurant that displays a few sections of the AIDS quilt in the original location of where they were made. Kathy is active in the community and is endearing in her love for her neighborhood and the cause of social justice we all need to share. If I am ever back in SF I will take the tour again and bring as many people as I can to educate us on on the continuing struggle of human rights. Plus she is so fun! She mentioned that she tours with school groups and I think everyone should have the opportunity to take her tour.
