I recently went on Kathy's tour, and it was fantastic! She is a wealth of information about the history and people of The Castro Community -- and literally knows everyone (so many people stopped to wave, say hello, and get a hug from her). The tour start time of 9am and ~2.25 hour duration were perfect for me for make the most of my day before I flew out in the afternoon. The tour was community-centered, full of information and spirit, and at an easy pace for walking. Bring a camera/phone; likely not appropriate for 18 or younger. Kathy took pictures of us all, which was much appreciated. Tour ended at the Human Rights Store, and Kathy pointed out other great spots to visit and eat in the neighborhood once the tour was complete. Highly recommend!

I had a great time. Kathy clearly is a part of this neighborhood and shared her love for it with us. I think no less than 8 people said hi to her as we were walking around. It was emotional at times, funny at others, but always earnest. She is also the first tour guide I've had who didn't ask for tips. She didn't even give anyone the opportunity, as she left pretty quickly at the end of the tour. It's well worth the price of admission.

As a newlywed LGBT couple on our honeymoon, we were thrilled to visit this important place of civil rights history that paved the way for us to be allowed to have a legal right to marry. Kathy was beyond amazing and incredibly knowledgeable. Her energy, passion and involvement in the community paved the way for her to provide an incredibly informative narrative of Castro. The fact she was in both Milk and When We Rise was just a super cool connection to films that spoke to our passion of LGBTQIQPA rights.... and if you are confused on those letters, you need this tour!!! Thank you Kathy for providing the highlight of our San Francisco visit!!!!
