Our day in SB on our cruise so had limited time. It was about a 15 minute walk to the tourist information office from the tender dock and as mentioned in previous reviews the tickets were $22. Our driver had lived in the area for several years and knew all the "nitty gritty" and fun facts about the area which made the tour very interesting. Wish we could've started earlier in the day so we could've taken advantage of the "Hop on, Hop off" feature of this tour. Santa Barbara is beautiful!

Like other reviwers we found this tour was a great way to get an introductory overview of the city. The tour officially starts at the tourist information office near the pier but you can hop on and start the tour from any stop by buying your ticket from the driver. Since the tour is about 90 minutes and most free parking downtown is for 75 minutes, we chose to drive to the Old Mission where you can park for free with no time limit. The trolley was there when we arrived so we hopped on, did the tour, and then left the tour and visited the Old Mission at our lesiure. We then drove into downtown and visited some of the sites we viewed from the trolley. The only drawback to this tour is that the trolley only passes every hour. If you want to get hop on/hop off you need to be willing to spent an hour at the stop. But on the postive side, the ticket is good for 48 hours.

We arrived by cruise ship and decided to do the "hop on" bus. You catch it at the tourist office which is about 5 to 6 blocks from where the ship docks. When you get off the ship you turn right and walk to the tourist office. The bus leaves every hour and it is a 90 minute tour. It is narrated by the driver and gives you a good overview of Santa Barbara. He stops at the mission for 15 minutes so you can take photos. I don't recommend getting off at any of the stops as it can get crowded and you may not be able to board the next trolley. It was 22 dollars which was half the price the cruise charged for virtually the same thing. Totally enjoyed it.
