With 30 years of teaching experience, a NM Level 2 Art Teaching license, 10 years of experience as the founder and executive director of the Tarnoff Art Center(a 501c3) based here in the Santa fe area, and the current co-owner of Artful Soul Creative Experiences in Downtown Santa Fe, Laura brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to her classes. As she is dedicated to guiding students on their artistic journey . Laura graduated from the American Academy of Art in Chicago, where she underwent a rigorous academic art education. Her disciplined training included studying the human figure and mastering various traditional art mediums such as pastels, oil painting, watercolors, pen and ink, and much more. Laura's own artwork is a testament to her vibrant and painterly style, ranging from tight realism to wild non-objective abstractions. Known for her "Figurative Abstractions," Laura infuses her work with emotionally charged colors, figurative distortions, and expressive brushstrokes.

Laura is an excellent teacher. I had so much fun as she guided me through two different acrylic paintings. I learned a lot. Great class to have fun and gain some knowledge. I highly recommend Laura and Artful Soul.

What a welcoming and positive space to create art in. Delicious refreshments were provided and although we were carefully guided through our paintings, there was enough freedom for everyone to pursue their unique creative inspiration. I have no painting experience and left with a finished canvas that I've very happy with. Can't wait to try another class!

My acrylic painting class with Laura was an amazing experience! I had no previous art classes and left feeling like an artist! I absolutely loved it and would recommend this class to anyone that wants a new beautiful experience.
