There is a reason that the Mangrove Tunnels of Lido Key are a must-do experience when visiting the Gulf Coast. We launch from Ted Sperling Nature Park (190 Taft Dr Sarasota FL) which has clean restrooms, a rinsing shower, and shaded picnic tables. Our amazing local guides from Sea Life Kayak Adventures take you on a tour of Little Sarasota Bay, where you may see manatees, dolphins, a variety of birds and sea life...then finish up in the famous mangrove tunnels, a beautiful canopy that meanders thru an island. The tour usually goes around 2 hours, but we aren't on a strict schedule, so please allow for an extra half hour. We are located just minutes from downtown Sarasota, 20 minutes from Siesta Key, and a half hour from Anna Maria Island and Bradenton (add time for traffic during high season. We meet a HALF HOUR before our tours)

Just completed the half day mangrove tunnel kayak tour with my wife, daughter and grandson (12yo). Great time was had by all. Our guide, Kenny E, was very knowledgeable and entertaining. Learned a tremendous amount about this Sarasota gem, its history and importance of this ecosystem. Can’t thank Kenny enough!

My partner and I chose to visit Sea Life as an anniversary date, and we were not disappointed. The weather was lovely, the route was beautiful, and so was the wildlife. Our guide, Ian, showed us the local pelicans, cormorants, mangrove crabs, and oysters. Ian was wonderful as a guide. He was professional and kept us safe and informed the entire way. His dry Irish sense of humour was a very welcome bonus speaking as a tourist visiting from the UK. We weren't fortunate enough to see any dolphins or manatees today - apparently there had been some manatees in the area the previous day, but we'd missed them. But the rest of the trip was beautiful enough to recommend alone. Paddling through the bay waters is fun, but the guide through the mangroves was the clear highlight. We had an amazing day and we'd love to come back again!

We had so much fun on our kayaking trip. I brought my two teenage daughters and we each had single kayaks. Rob was a great guide as he was very knowledgeable of the area’s history and wildlife. And he was funny! We saw a mother dolphin and her calf while on the tour and many birds! One bird was within arm’s reach – so beautiful. The mangroves were beautiful and although the bay was windy, the waters were calm with easy paddling within the mangroves. We would definitely recommend!
