Blue Ridge Parkway
As we drive along the parkway, you'll notice spots on the road where you can pull your vehicle to the side. These overlooks are designed to spotlight the mountains' most scenic vistas. There are over 200 of them along the whole Blue Ridge Parkway! Each one features a large wooden sign that lists the name of the mountain or ridge you're looking at, and your current elevation. It's nice to give a little personal touch to the otherwise anonymous and similar-looking mountains that you drive through.
2
Waterrock Knob
This is Blue Ridge Parkway's tallest visitor's center! Located at 5,820 feet in elevation, this location is known for its stunning long-range views of several major Appalachian mountain chains.
3
Cherokee Rose
From the Trail of Tears emerged the legend of the Cherokee Rose. The flower, in full bloom, features a cluster of snow-white petals surrounding a yellow center. In the story, each petal represents a band of the Cherokee nation, and in the center lies the gold for which their nation was torn apart. In order to access that gold, the white settlers had torn off all the petals.

I started the tour fine at the welcome center it seemed to work well but the portion of the Blue Ridge Parkway that I had purchased was closed because of damage from the hurricane. The company should have not had this available if the road is totally closed down.

Elaine, I’m sorry you couldn’t fully enjoy my Scenic Blue Ridge Parkway Driving Audio Tour. The North Carolina section was closed due to hurricane damage, while parts of Virginia reopened. I recommend checking NPS updates before visiting, and I'll be sure to add closure info for future customers. Don’t worry—my tour is valid for a year, so you can revisit anytime and explore the reopened sections!

We enjoyed the stories and tidbits about the Blue Ridge as we were traveling. It also pointed out small details about some of the overlooks that we would not have known. Having grown up near the Blue Ridge, there wasn’t a whole lot we haven’t seen but the tucked away parts that was shared on the app was worth the purchase. Like the tv tower on top of a high ridge which we couldn’t see because of clouds covering it and the small wooden walkway in the Taylor Forest. That did make the experience more immersive. I liked that it gave alternate things to view off the beaten place so to speak.

Kim, I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the stories and hidden details of my Scenic Blue Ridge Parkway Self-Guided Driving Audio Tour, especially those tucked-away spots like the TV tower and the small wooden walkway in the Taylor Forest. It sounds like the tour added some great value to your trip! However, I noticed you gave us three stars, and I'd love to know what led to giving two stars less. Your feedback would really help me improve the experience.
