Matt picked us up right on schedule and listened to us right from the start about where we had visited in waikiki so far on our trip. Top off the jeep and away we went. The sights are spectacular. Matt's knowledge of the island and quick manoeuvring of the jeep through the traffic got us off to a great start along the end of waikiki up to diamond head and then through the east side community to the freeway. He treated us to pineapple and ice cream at the dole plantation and a quick walk to the koi pond through the garden. Then onto north shore and the delights of the island. My favourite part was the pali lookout. He even dropped us off at Walmart at the end of the day because we had talked about catching a bus there to take a look. He was a great driver, a great communicator. We had a spectacular day!

So much to see, so little time. Yet, Matt squeezed it all in! Diamondhead, North Shore, Dole Plantation, Shrimp Trucks, and big waves. All with a great story-telling ability and a love for the islands. He picked us up, loaded with drinks and snacks. The trip going was great. There was one hiccup on the return. Mechanical problems. Matt ensured that we were safe and even used his own vehicle to return us to the hotel. Definitely one of the highlights of the trip.

First ask for the best guide ever... SEAN! Then prepare for the most wonderful Oahu day trip ever. Eventhough we have another week in Oahu, we already know that this day will be the highlight of our trip. The entire experience exceeded our expectations. We learned so much. Hawaii's history, Polynesian history, WW2 exactly where the planes flew in that bomb Pearl Harbour. Visited movie filming sites. Oahu's majestic ocean and mountain scenery. The food... Sean got us to eat raw tuna... It was delicious. There's so much that we learned and experienced that its not enough space here to say. We think Sean's knowledge, love and respect for his home is what made this trip so special for us. Words cannot express. Wish we could multiply the stars.
