I have ridden past Beauvoir several times and always thought "That's a nice bit of history," but I never had stopped to see it in depth. Our guide was knowledgeable and enthusiastic, and she answered extra questions easily. The tour was well worth the money. It was interesting to me to discover the community support in restoring what they could after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. The adjoining museum is an amazing contrast with its contemporary building, and the artifacts are displayed with SPACE so that we could really SEE what interested us.. The staff person also was well informed and friendly. We walked to the cemetery and envisioned the Veterans care provided after The War. We wandered around the grounds and saw where the vegetables, herbs, and flowers had been grown. Did you know you can spend the night in the nearby cottage? What fun to sit and watch the Gulf after supper....

Enjoyed the tour provided by Mrs. Kitsa. She was so knowledgeable and did not rush us. She answered all of our questions and provided so much information. The artifacts were priceless!! The cemetery, particularly the tomb of the unknown soldier was a very moving experience. Enjoyed sitting on the library porch. Awesome library that I could have spent hours in. Great gift shop and staff was awesome!!

It was amazing to see the original house and all the pictures of and items salvaged after Hurricane Katrina. I love history and my son tolerates me dragging him to places like this, but even he was impressed. Too warm to walk the entire grounds plus a car show was being held so we just stayed around the main house, museum and gardens.
