Route 66
After departing the Phoenix metro area, our tour travels through the expansive Sonoran Desert filled with the native saguaro cactus. The scenery begins to change as we increase in elevation and views of the cactus fade into pine trees. As we continue further into Northern Arizona, we will travel the outskirts of the Route 66 town of Flagstaff and from the highway, see the San Francisco Peaks among the seemingly endless Ponderosa Pine Forest, the largest contiguous forest of ponderosa pines in the world.
2
Williams Depot
Williams will be our first stop along the tour for a chance to experience Route 66, the iconic American highway steeped in rich tradition. While in Williams, guests will have the opportunity to “get their kicks on Route 66” with walks along the original route, explore the local shops and capture souvenir photos highlighting a bygone era in classic American history. Also known as the Will Rodgers Highway, Route 66 is the most recognizable road in the United States and stretched 2,448 miles from Chicago to California upon completion.
3
Grand Canyon National Park
Just before entering the Grand Canyon National Park, you will be checked in for your 45 minute helicopter flight, spanning over 90 miles of the Grand Canyon. After your flight, your guide will bring you back into the National Park to discover more by foot. You will have opportunities to walk the rim, shop, capture an unlimited number of photographs, or relax with the best seat in the house. Your total time at Grand Canyon including the helicopter and walking is approximately 3 hours, with approximately 1-1.5 hours on the rim walking.

Sadly the helicopter flight was cancelled due to high winds but this did not take away from an amazing Grand Canyon experience. This really is something you have to experience in person. Photos just do any justice to how incredible this place is. Our guide, Aldo, was very knowledgeable & funny and just a great person all round! Would highly recommend this adventure, it’s definitely worth the travel!

By far the best way to see the Grand Canyon. The views are spectacular. The amount of time spent in the air was perfect.

We couldn't agree more, a guided tour is the best way to ensure you get to see precisely what you need, and you've got a guide to answer any questions and fill you in on the not-so-common knowledge! We hope to see you again soon. Take care! Best, Nathan DETOURS

This tour was absolutely worth it. The whole trip was memorable but certainly the helicopter ride over the Grand Canyon is an experience that will never be forgotten. When you leave the heli-port you fly for several miles 200 feet above the tree tops before cresting the rim of the Grand Canyon when suddenly you're looking 5000 feet below to the base of the Canyon. The colors of the various rock types and formations are spectacular. There was plenty of time once on the ground to take several of the walking trails, with may vantage points to take picture post card photographs. It's a full day but our tour guide Sam took good care of us. He was extremely knowledgeable even as we drove the 4 hours from Phoenix to the Grand Canyon keeping us informed of the wilderness and eco-system. Once at the Grand Canyon we had time to ourselves and with Sam who explained how the Grand Canyon was formed and why it's so important. We've been on lots of tours and this was one, if not, the best tour we've been on.
