Although it wasn't quite what we expected, based on the description we read, we stll had a lovely time touring the smaller wineries of Napa Valley. It was nice to see as a whole and we had an awesome guide.
Allow me to explain why it wasn't what we expected. The description we read was "wine tour". With that in mind, I thought I'd be learning about what makes Napa Valley grades better than any other, different processes the winery uses to make their wines, more information about the winery itself. Instead, we got "here's where we grow our Merlot grapes" and we tasted some wine (which is an additional fee -- $15 per tasting/person and we visited 4 wineries). The tour was more about wine tasting than it was about touring wineries and learning about these wineries. Neither of us enjoyed that fact about this tour and we were a little disappointed.
However, this tour overall is great if you're going for wine tasting and you want a smaller group setting. I truly did enjoy seeing the wineries and spending the time outside seeing Napa Valley, I simply didn't enjoy the fact that the point of these tours was to wine taste (otherwise, I would have chosen a different alternative that suits my needs more).
Definitely a must try if you're wanting to do some wine tasting.

I appreciate that you shared your insights and I'll certainly revisit the need to go deeper into the wine-making process with our guide team. Sometimes we back off that subject since it is usually discussed thoroughly at the wineries and we don't want to over-saturate the subject. What you should be hearing from our guides is stories about this area, and tidbits about the culture here, the history, the geography, the indigenous peoples and any other topic that leaves you feeling a better understanding and connection to this wine country. It sorta seems like maybe that didn't happen either, since you didn't mention it. If that's so I apologize, and I'll work harder to make sure that commentary appears on every tour.
