Your tour will begin with pickup from your Napa Valley hotel. Where you are staying will define the tour region that you will be visiting. If your accommodations are outside of the winery region, you can arrange to meet us a general meeting spot. You’ll visit three charming, backroads wineries and be served a picnic lunch in an idyllic winery setting. Your tour guide will tell fascinating stories and share many interesting tidbits about local history, culture and wine making. This is not a smarmy or touristy activity. Our specialty is intimate, light-hearted and truly memorable. This tour is sure to entertain with a very approachable and easy-going style. Discover and savor new experiences tasting some of the world’s most celebrated wines. Our typical guest is not necessarily a wine expert but keen to learn a bit about wine and wine-making, and is open to sharing the experience with a few other like-minded wine adventurers.

My significant other and I just returned from 4 days in Napa and it was a fantastic trip thanks to Platypus Wine Tours and our excellent guide Bob! We originally planned on only taking one tour but had such a great time we booked one for the following day! Bob was fun, knowledgeable, and put together two great tours. Over the two trips, we were able to see 6 smaller, outstanding wineries that I never would have known were there if not for Bob. At each stop, we not only tasted excellent wine but learned a lot about the grape growing process and why Napa makes the wine they do. The wineries clearly respected Platypus Tours and were were given reduced tasting rates and able to taste other items that may not have been on the menu. Both groups were small and filled with other fun people which only added to the experience. Everything was Covid safe so we never had to worry. I cannot recommend Platypus Tours and Bob enough. We are already looking forward to our next trip.

Abbey and Dustin are the best! I've been planning for a Friendsgiving trip to Napa Valley this year with high expectation, requested wineries and style. Abby and Dustin had multiple discussion with me to make this perfect agenda for our trip. This is especially hard during pandemic due to the restriction on the large group (a lot of wineries are limited to 4 or 6 people per group). They are so patient and knowledgeable on the recommendations and all the back and forth calls with me. Unfortunately, due to this week's county and state mandate...There are more restrictions in California and my friends didn't want to risk going to Napa this time. Even though we decided to postpone our trip, Platypus made sure we got our refund back and canceled all reservations for us. We will definitely come back when things are better and this is most professional and genuine experience we can ask for. Really appreciate all the consideration and planning that Platypus provided!

For everyone who doesn't know, Abbey and Dustin are the dynamic duo of wine tour planning, particularly for our private tours, which are highly customized to the tastes and preferences of our tour clients. This includes helping to identify the perfect wineries, then working out the timing & logistics, making lunch arrangements and the most challenging part, getting those wineries to grant us the appointment slots we need. As you might imagine, these tasks have been especially challenging over the past umpteen months as safety protocols and winery policies fluctuated many times. I'm so proud of our team for navigating this environment so cheerfully and making so many successful wine tours happen despite the obstacles! Aptsai: we are looking forward to seeing you and your friends just as soon as you're all ready to reschedule your Napa Valley trip! See you then.

Due to COVID-19, my group & I were unable to make it for our wine tastings (or NAPA in general). Not only were we fully refunded for our deposits, we were kindly followed-up with a call asking if we received those funds back in our account. Although we didn’t get the opportunity to encounter this wonderful group of people and staff, they have made us highly likely to come back and recommend their services to everyone. This is the way you should treat your customers... they definitely left an impact on our group and we will be back when it’s less chaotic! Thank you Platypus Wine Group!
