Had a great time on this trip! I was a solo female traveler, and our guide Phil, as well as the rest of the participants on the tour, made me feel so included right from the beginning. We were able to see so much as part of the tour, as well as had an hour and a half of free time at lunch to adventure and explore on our own. Two important things that I will note:
1) The Sequoia grove that you visit and hike in requires a one mile hike downhill to get to the sequoia grove, which only actually has a few visible sequoias mixed in with the other trees in the forest. I was expecting to be completely surrounded by tall sequoias with the huge red trunks, however that was not the case. You then have to walk a mile back to the van, which is all uphill.
2) If you get motion sick, consider bringing dramamine or another medication, or just be prepared you might get a bit nauseous on the drive back from the park. There is a very winding road with a significant drop in elevation over the course of eight miles, and even the regular roads we took the rest of the way back to SF were a bit bumpy. Could've just been our driver, however it seemed that a lot of my nauseous feelings could be attributed to the roads.
Besides the drive home, it was a great time!
