I have done several Old Town trolley tours over the years in other cities & this, by far, was the most disappointing tour we've taken. The first driver, Kendall, had an unbelievably shrill voice & repeatedly yelled at passengers. Let me preface this by saying I am 50, from North Carolina, & very much about being polite & being courteous to those around you, especially in these group tours. But Kendall was just too much. One man would put his elbow on the edge of the seat/rail, & was NOT hanging out of the vehicle but she repeatedly would address him. One man quietly answered his phone (he was in front of us) & she snapped at him to "get off his phone during the tour". He was NOT disrupting anyone in the 15 secs he was on the phone & it was a bit over the top for what could have been an emergency call. Some of her facts weren't accurate & she was not interesting at all.
The second driver, Davey Jones, was possibly worse than the first. His whistling, singing & yelling into the microphone without adjusting his volume to accommodate for the speaker was migraine inducing. His swinging his arms singing the Monkeys theme song while driving through heavy traffic was a tad scary. They gave conflicting details of the sights in the area & both gave facts that we knew weren't accurate.
The tour itself is 22 stops. It could easily have been done in 10-12 stops. At times it felt like we were going in circles & honestly for us, it wasn't worth the cost. Very disappointing Old Town...we expected much better from you.
