I used a Groupon for this adventure (otherwise I wouldn't have known about it!). My husband and I set up the day for 11:00 AM December 14th. The weather that day was foggy and cool. Chris from Speed Boat Adventures called to see if we wanted to postpone to the 1 o'clock tour when the fog would be burned off - I thought that was very nice of them to think of that, but we were ok with going with the weather the way it was! We got there and were given the safety instructions, and the map of the area and how the tour works. Pretty cool operation if you ask me! So we got into the boats and off we went with my husband behind the wheel. Probably due to the weather there was no other boat traffic so we had the whole bay to ourselves along with some dolphins and birds. We were able to go full throttle all the way to the Skyway Bridge. At this point our guide, Captain Scott Simon, talked to us one on one telling about the history of the Skyway Bridge and how the city may decide to light up the bridge for the holidays... On the return trip I took the wheel and what a blast that is! My face actually hurt from all of the smiles and laughing going on! This is a fun thing to do that is so different from the norm and a great way to see some of Florida that not everyone gets to see! I'd recommend this to anyone, and have already shared my story with co-workers and friends!
