Like most tours you will receive information about the area, as well as seeing some beautiful sights. Where this tour felt different to me was with the personable tour guide. Russ went above and beyond to ensure we saw as much wildlife as possible. Russ shared information about the big earthquakes that changed Anchorage, along with some other interesting Alaskan history. It was great to hear history and facts blended with some personal history. When choosing a tour, ask yourself - Who would you rather get a tour from? -Your down-to-earth, extraordinary uncle that knows a bunch of random stuff and will adjust the tour to accommodate? -or - An amiable robot that offers rigid facts and statistics and sticks to a program like glue? If you’d be more comfortable lounging around a campfire in cozy pajamas listening to stories, go with Russ on this tour. If you prefer an evening wearing Dior and sipping Macallan 1926 by the light of luxury candles, go find another tour - you’d hate this. DISCLAIMER: No tour that I know of offers High End Whiskey or Dior loungewear, nor was there any talk of pajamas or campfires.

Taken to the best spots to see the sunset, photography tips, excellent information on history and Anchorage today, many wildlife sightings, and opportunities to learn about Alaska. Excellent guide. Comfortable experience.

We booked the tour for the same day. Called to confirm and the coordinator seemed a bit rushed and impatient with us. We booked and called to confirm as advised by the website. . The coordinator said he’d call us back with the details but about two hours later, an hour before the time scheduled to leave, we hadn’t heard anything so we called. We made contact and the coordinator seemed frustrated with us. Guide was nice but the tour was woefully lacking. We went downtown to listen as he read placards in an area that was beyond sketchy. He seemed to be guessing at a lot of the facts and had no script. The stops on the tour seemed haphazard and just chosen on the fly. We cut the tour short due to car sickness from his driving and worry over leaving the area with him behind the wheel at night. The prospect of spending another 3 hours on that tour was just not something we could commit to. We explained we were not feeling well and requested to be returned to our hotel.

How sad that you would utilize a public forum rather than calling the “coordinator” and explain your obvious issues with your tour. Not only am I the coordinator but o am also the Owner. I would rather hear from you personally rather than in public. However, I believe this is an excellent opportunity to sho the public how I deal with the occasional complaint. The key thing you said was — you “booked on the same day” of service. Unfortunately, with VIATOR and OTHER third-party vendors. They require me to allow you to book on the same day. Normally, I don’t allow that because it IS a rushed effort to coordinate driver, tour and other details. The driver is confused by your negative review. I was told you left him a nice tip. I will be taking the next tour as a passenger on his next tour. He will not know I am going until the last moment. I honestly believed he provides a tour of quality that I strive to offer all my guests. However, I take complains like your’s extremely serious and will ensure he is continuing to take care to provide the very best tour possible. Thank you for your feedback.
