My 11 and 13 year old sons had surf lessons and had a wonderful experience! Their instructor was very friendly and personable. After the first hour it started to storm so we had to reschedule and it was easy and they worked with us. The boys caught great waves and we even saw a shark! Definitely recommend Jack's!

Unfortunately the waves did not cooperate. We rescheduled my 9 year old Granddaughter's lesson twice. Upon Instructors recommendation, she went out for lesson on a grey, rainy morning. She became very upset and quit the lesson halfway through. The Instructor Jay was very patient but could not bring my Granddaughter around. She had surfed last year successfully but that was in the Gulf and the waves were not as rough as those in Myrtle Beach. I had rented the SurfBoard from Jack's for the entire week. She made a few attempts on her own but gave up. I wish I had not prebooked the lesson or board as it was a waste of over $200. The weather/wave situation was certainly not Jack's fault but I felt they should not have recommended that she take her lesson on a grey, rainy morning as that made the waves seem even more scary.

Our surf lessons at Jack's were wonderful! I've always wanted to learn but definitely was nervous at first. We had an early morning lesson, which was great because the beach wasn't too crowded so we had lots of space in the water to practice and not worry about running into others. Our instructor, Joe, gave lots of tips which were super helpful especially considering I had no prior experience with surfing, or with snowboarding/skateboarding/anything similar. My yoga experience definitely helped as upper body strength is for sure needed. I would definitely take another lesson here at another time to refresh my knowledge and get some more practice!
