We had very high expectations on this event, especially after the amazing experience we had at the Alii Luau at the Polynesian cultural centre In O'ahu. But despite the decent show put up by the artists, the substandard food and poor service did cast a big shadow on the overall experience.
When you pay $275 per head, you're expected to be served great food, at least. But here, almost every item was a disappointment. To begin with, the food was cold when served. The chicken became hard, the grilled beef and pulled pork became hardly enjoyable, and the noodles was bland and lacked flavors.
The salad and the guava pastry was the only things we could enjoy. But again, when we requested for some more of the guava pastry, it was already over! They had served only probably 10-12 of them on the table where 10 of us where seated. They were serving food on the table instead of the buffet system, due to Covid restrictions. But I think they missed a trick by serving too much stuff at every table, thereby creating a lot of wastage of food. For eg, the guava pastry we wanted to try more was seen lying around untouched in at least 8 tables around us, when we were leaving. It was a disappointing sight.
One more thing we did not like was that they kept serving food very fast and we felt pressurized to finish the courses way too quickly to our liking. May be, they were still getting used to moving from buffet to serving on the tables.
The minibar was the only solace where they served a wide variety of cocktails. The staff were experienced, patient, and friendly. I'd like to mention that the person who served food at our table was friendly. She even took us to the beach to help us with taking pictures of our group.
Overall, I'd not recommend this event if you're a food enthusiast, at least not for the price they're charging.
