Rafted the Upper Pigeon River on April 7th, 2011 with Trent as our guide. We had a fantastic time. Ask for Trent! The weather was absolutely fabulous. Highly recommend a wet suit this time of year. The scenery was beautiful. There is a nice changing facility which looks new. There were plenty of changing rooms and bathrooms as well as showers. You could rent wet suits for an additional $10 each. They take pictures of you on the river which were $18 a piece or $30 for an entire CD. There were 17 pictures on our CD. Even though I could have taken pictures (I left the water proof camera in the car), I think it was nice to buy the CD and have better pictures. They also sell the same water proof disposable camera that I would have used. The trip was about 2 hours on the river. It was money well spent.

Hi! My family and I chose Outdoor Adventures,Inc. for our white water rafting trip. We have two little girls ages 3 and 6 and this was the perfect first experience for them. We took a ride down the Lower Pigeon River and it was perfect for taking in the scenery and enjoying the beautiful views. This trip is more of a coast down the river instead of intense paddling for all. Mainly the guide did the paddling and steering and then asked us to do a few strokes when necessary to get us lined out. There is one class III rated rapid at the almost the very end of the trip that does get you a bit wet and requires a little work. We had Dave as a guide and he was great! He was very knowledgeable about the river and made us feel very safe. We enjoyed talking to him about the area, history of the river, and the beautiful plants that line the river banks. All of the children as well as adults in our raft had a great time. I would however, recommend the trip down the Upper Little Pigeon River that is also guided by this company for the more daring older children and adults who are seeking more of a thrill. The trip down the Lower Little Pigeon River was perfect for small children, but the adults enjoyed it equally as much. Next time we will take the Upper Little Pigeon rafting trip.
