What a great tour. Kent was a great guide and a font of knowledge about the history of Miami Beach and the art deco buildings and history. I highly recommend this tour--and seniors get a discount!

The MIami Design Preservation League, 1001 Ocean Drive, offers wonderful walking tours of the Art Deco District. We do the tour every time we are in Miami Beach and as each tour leader is different, we always learn more about the district. Do an internet search for the league to botain more information.

We took the Art Deco walking tour on a Friday morning. The Welcome Center is very easy to find and the staff there were very helpful. Our large group was broken up into two groups of about 12 each. Marty our tour guide was very knowledgable and experienced in giving tours. It was well worth the time and money for the tour, even if you have a limited interest in Art Deco architecture. The tour gives you a much better overall history of why the district even exists. It is a very easy walk and slow paced, so you do not need to worry about walking too far or too much. Marty had a very good grasp of the origins of the style and the evolution of it in the buildings in Miami Beach. He engages the audience and does not put up with any nonsense from interlopers! If you have the time and the slightest interest, do this tour. I would definitely do any of their tours on a future visit.
