The Salem Witch Walk

At the start of the tour we will be casting a Witches Magic Circle to show what real Witches do and raise energy for a blessing. We will then embark on a walk through historic Salem Massachusetts. We will stop at Salem's Old Burying Point Cemetery where we will be preform a blessing for the wrongly accused. We then make several stops in the City to discuss the real Witches of Salem and their practices. We will cover the Witches Sabbats (holidays), and Esbats (full moon rituals), the core principles of the beliefs and practices of the Salem Witch. All of those who take the tour will be given a discount to at Crow Haven Corner, which is the Oldest Witch Shop in North America.

My wife and I took this tour on a brief visit to Salem on October 17th. It was not only incredibly informative about the history of witches in Salem, but we had a lot of fun as well. The tour guide (an actual witch) was quite knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor. I can't recommend this tour enough!

My 14 year old sister and I went on this your at 3pm today with P.J. (It may be B.J. but think he said P.J) anyway we booked the tour for 3 people my fiancé was Salem-ed out with our shopping and touristy activities so he missed out on this really awesome and authentic tour-I feel like he would have loved it as it was very historical. I do wish they had a few earlier tours as we arrived at 10:30am so by 3 our energy was waning-now for for the review!! It was amazing-our guide you could tell really loves and lives the life of a Salem witch. His public speaking abilities were great he looked everyone in the eye and watched out for the group-teasing us all when we took pics or looked at our phones to send that ever important text. He kept us engaged and on point while filling us in on so many facts--about the Salem witch trials, the misconceptions of witchcraft, the old Burial ground where it turns out there are graves all over so despite the "walkways" (due to a massive fire that struck 70% of Salem) the truth is you are probably walking over someone in there. He went into the history of Christmas and Easter and living according to the rise/set/length of the sun during the day as well as the seasons. We saw where Giles Corey was pressed to death and where the apple orchard of Bridget Bishop was. We learned of the history of doll spells and the difference between the two readings/stores of Omen and Hex-both owned by Christian Day. My sister and I had readings at Omen right before our tour and we didn't even notice the altar there so it was cool to be filled in on how both shops have an altar but for different purposes. The tour definitely took on myths of witchcraft and gave logical explanations for how they came about-the Puritans, Hollywood etc. We saw the bewitched statue and understood that after all having a Hollywood film crew in Salem turned the city into less of a scary, "cursed" place where scary voodoo witches live into the thriving attraction and home of witches people flock to see and imitate in the streets every year. I will warn you to definitely bring cash to tip your tour guide! After buying sweatshirts, going to the psychic fair at Omen for readings/tipping our readers and buying food on Essex street I didn't even have a dollar in cash at the end and felt like we scurried off without a thank you in shame. We did pay for an extra ticket though but he was fantastic so instead I will post this review! Also the prayer circle and pink stone at the beginning of the tour was very different and cool. My 14 year old sister isn't into history too much and would have nagged me to leave if she didn't like this but she loved it! We chatted about everything we learned and our favorite parts on the ride home-something a teenager wouldn't be bothered with if she wasn't impressed. I will also mention it was only 13 dollars a person that is phenomenal! I went on the trolley tour with some friends visiting this summer and that tour cannot hold a candle to this walking tour. In the end these witches are positive, nice people so my review won't change their success-it is coming to them anyway. But don't think or hesitate to go-just go!!! I go to Salem every year and have since I was a kid-we know our way around, know the shops, we didn't think we needed a tour but I'm so glad we went! Also get a reading from Omen they are so spot on you will just laugh for thinking it was all just for fun when they call out every thing happening in your life! I think this tour could do packages too-so the walking tour then right into readings..people have limited interactions with witches and some tourists have no clue what to do in Salem so having a place to book this then this to get that "experience" that's what people flock to Salem for. The fact that the witch tour was so different from everything else I've seen makes me think they could have "bundle offers" too. Thank You!! 😄

I think this is the best tour to take if you want a fresh perspective on the city. We learned a little about the witch trials history, but the majority of it was about misconceptions associated with witchcraft. It was very interesting! Tom was our guide, and even though it was raining, freezing, and windy, he still made it funny and exciting.
