We chose the 5 course dinner cruise package since it was for multiple family celebrations. Our cruise was the during week of 09/18/2022.
The greeting as the dock was organized and welcoming. By the staff and crew.
Onboard though, the overall staff and service was just okay when compared to other dinner cruises we’ve been on. Enjoyed the live music, but the entertainment was typical and very “commercial.” This dining experience was just a big rush to get to the next course compared to other dinner cruises. They announced appetizers would be available all evening - but they never replenished the appetizer plates, even though we made the staff aware of the situation. So before the dinner service started we asked for additional bread sticks and the server gave us a definitive “no.” Stemware and silverware were spotty and dirty looking.
The appetizer spread was ok - cheese, fruit, and crackers. The salad was good, lobster was tough and overcooked, beef was just ok. I don’t know about dessert since I decided not to eat it. We also had to repeatedly ask for our water glasses to be replenished.
The worst was at the dessert and coffee course. A “bug/roach?” legs and all were found in the coffee of the wife of the couple we were with after she stirred in the creamer!!! I couldn’t eat dessert or drink my coffee or have anything else after that. Of course the staff attempted to compensate the table with more drinks. I declined.
The view of the island was nice, it could have been better if they have gone a little further so guests could actually view more of Diamond Head and the lighthouse. The sunset was gorgeous.
My suggestion, offer better food and service with fewer courses that are all excellent, if they cannot manage to meet consumer expectations. Extend the time 5-10 minutes to actually see Diamond Head before turning around and heading back to port.
