First, the view of the city and Diamond Head was lovely and the sunset was beautiful. Also, the staff was very pleasant.
The rest of the experience was underwhelming. The “champagne” toast is actually sparking cider. No real champagne unless you want to buy a bottle at a very high price. Alcohol drinks were typical tourist quality. I opted for a gin and tonic and was satisfied. The garden salad was beautifully presented and tasted good. The entree of steak and lobster was what I call banquet level. The lobster was chewy but the steak was ok. Dessert was fair.
Apparently there are several dinner cruise price groups on this one boat. So, during the entertainment piece, we could hear the group on the other side of the room divider. From the noise and laughter, it sounded like they were having a lot more fun than us!
In hindsight, I probably should have read more reviews to better understand what this was. The quality didn’t meet my expectations at this price point.
