Our exciting class III-IV Upper Clear Creek river rafting trip provides an exciting experience for adventurous first-timers and experienced rafters.

Class 3: (Minimum ages may vary) Moderately difficult. Irregular waves and narrow channels. This is what we consider to be family-level whitewater rafting.
Class 4: (Minimum ages may vary) Difficult. Complex channels with obstacles to be avoided. Precise maneuvering.

There is just enough time to warm up before you drop into the first advanced white water rapid on this thrilling stretch of Clear Creek river rafting! Just minutes from Denver, this continuous, steep, technical section will keep your paddle moving and your heart pounding as you crash through 8 miles of rapids such as Nomad and Phoenix Holes and Outer Limits. As you marvel at the beautiful Colorado scenery, keep a lookout for Big Horn Sheep, river otters, deer and other native wildlife that are commonly spotted on many of our Colorado whitewater rafting trips. Only 30 minutes from Denver and one hour from Boulder, Summit County and Winter Park, Clear Creek is the perfect option for all ages and abilities and adds excitement to all Colorado excursions!

We wanted to do something as a family that all of us could enjoy (two retirees, two adult children and one teenager) and although it was a bit daunting for this mom, it was also one of the best experiences ever. If you’re looking for an easy, relaxing float down the river keep on looking. On this trip you WILL work and the water IS cold, but it is is worth it if you are looking for an exciting Colorado adventure. Our tour guide was Taz and he was amazing. We would highly recommend Taz as your guide, you will not be disappointed.

GREAT rafting trip with wonderful guides Taz and Lammert. Highly recommend this excursion. For someone who is slightly scared of rafting, these guides made the expedition feel both fun, safe and highly entertaining!

Such an AMAZING experience! Raft guide Taz and Lammert were SO wonderful! They were both very knowledgeable about the river, where the rapids were, what to expect in the rapids, and specific instructions on how to paddle through them. On top of that, they were laughing and having a great time with us! Taz and Lammert were the best guides and I highly recommend AVA!
