Firstly, Death Valley is amazing and a must see to appreciate the size and scope of the place. The tour we booked however was not quite what it was pitched as... Tony our tour guide was very pleasant and a good driver. However, being Albanian and having only lived in Las Vegas for 3 months, his knowledge of the area and it's history was limited at best. The wine tasting was just a trip to a winery (no tour of the vineyard or the cellars/wine-making facility, no talk about the history or wines themselves) and something we realised from a sign in the shop, was a free, sample testing of 3 of the winery's wines in their front of house shop (something which was offered complimentarily to anyone who walked through their doors). The star-gazing was also not as published. There was far too much light pollution from the nearby towns to achieve this. The trip is not "VIP" in any way either. Just a very standard (but acceptable) minibus....... The major problem I have with this tour is that it just isn't what is in the headline. If it said this is a trip to Death Valley and you'll see some of the sights & on the way we will stop at a winery which offers some complimentary tasting and the opportunity to buy some wine and at the end of the day you'll see the sunset over Death Valley and dropped the VIP claim then you would know exactly what you were getting and could decide if the £217 per person (there were 4 of us) represented good value. I would suggest it was over priced for what you actually got. But Death Valley is an amazing place!

This isn't the feedback we are used to hearing specifically about this tour. We take all the comments serious and use it to improve. We were the only two on the VIP Small Group Wine Tasting + Death Valley Sightseeing & Stargazing from Vegas. The total trip time was nearly twelve hours and worth it. Tony was very friendly and helpful throughout. He took us to interesting stops and there was no rush at any point. First stop was at Pahrump Winery for a bit of tasting. It is a small facility with a selection of Nevada and California wines. We had multiple stops in Death Valley starting at Dante’s View for a birds eye view, then down to Badwater Basin (lowest point in the USA), then on to Furnace Creek and finally Zabriske Point where we viewed the stars and Milky Way. We were fortunate with the weather. It was not the scorching hot temperatures that Death Valley is noted for but was much more pleasant temperatures in the 80’s. Well worth the trip from Vegas

We did the "VIP Small Group Wine Tasting + Death Valley Sightseeing & Stargazing from Vegas" trip and it was fantastic! The only day we could go, there was no one else booked, but Itravel went out of their way to make sure we got to go & set up a private tour for us! Tony did a great job driving and this allowed our guide Art to talk about the areas we were driving through and had some good stories about DV & the areas on the drive. The stop at the winery was fun and we enjoyed the tastings. Of course, we had to get a couple of bottles to take home with us! Death Valley is fantastic! Yes it was hot, but it is has so many amazing features and places to explore that you don't think about it. The view from Dantes is amazing and then to go to down into the valley to the lowest point at Badwater Basin was wild! Then to top it off a great day, we picked up some snacks and headed to Zabriskie Point to watch a wonderful sunset over the valley! A little cloudy after the sun set, so not a lot of stars to see at first, but then seeing the moon rise over the mountains was beautiful! Thanks to Itravel for a great tour!
