Walking tour in Manhattan Brooklyn Bridge and Waterfront

Обзор
NEW: For a special treat, book my new Sunset tour offered at 6 pm on Saturday, and watch the sun set and Manhattan skyline come alive.

All tours are delivered in English, and by the proprietor Scott, and feature small groups. Enjoy a 3-hour, 3-mile stroll with a 30-year resident of Brooklyn. I'll lead you to the most picturesque photo ops and find corners that only a local would know. Learn about the history of the people, eras, and technology that defined Brooklyn's rise. We'll pass by the homes of some very famous stars of TV and film, as well as through shoot locations you will almost certainly recognize from popular TV and films.

You'll end up in NYC's hottest neighborhood, Dumbo, home of NYC's best pizza. Make time for lunch and, during warm-weather weekends, to browse Brooklyn Flea for a bespoke, vintage souvenir.

This is a walking version of my popular, five-star rated bike tour, also listed on Viator.

It was fun to learn about the Brooklyn Bridge and surrounding Brooklyn neighborhoods. The guide was very knowledgeable. Prepare for a hike. Totally worth it, though!

Pros: My wife and I took this tour on a brisk, windy day in February and really enjoyed ourselves. (We are in our 60's and in decent shape). Scott met us in the City Hall park - he was easy to spot - and the tour commenced from there. He is very easygoing, chill and knowledgeable, having lived in the area for many years...and we asked a ton of questions (which he likes). We traversed the bridge, stopping along the way periodically to hear the history of its construction and for him to point out other landmarks. At the other end of the bridge, we walked through Brooklyn Heights and DUMBO and he pointed out a wide variety of points of interest. He was also flexible and willing to stay in a particular area longer if we had more questions. The tour ended about 2.5 hours later by the Brooklyn Heights waterfront, and we were able to easily find our way back to the central area to explore by ourselves. We both thought the tour was a great value, and we walked about 3 miles total over that period. He was also willing to take snapshots of us on the bridge and in DUMBO at various Instagrammable spots - no need to hire one of the many photographers that hang out on the bridge! Scott also does a separate bicycle tour of the bridge and surrounding area, but that makes it more difficult to ask questions - you have to wait until the next stop. (He isn't talking in your ear as you bike). Cons: Our tour was not crowded on the Monday afternoon, so we were able to stay in close proximity to Scott, who doesn't have the booming voice you might expect from a tour guide and doesn't use a microphone or any kind of wireless transmission system. If there were a dozen people, I might have had a problem hearing him, especially on the bridge itself, where the wind muffles speech.
