My husband & I took the sunset whale watching cruise and it was incredible. Not only did we see the majestic Orcas but the crew and captain were amazing. Hanna and Sarah were our naturalists and they kept us informed and entertained the whole 4+ hours, making sure our questions were answered and providing us blankets so we stayed warm on the bow, our preferred place to sit. Captain Mike, I'm sure, went further than planned so that we could see the beautiful Orcas. He was very respectful in keeping the right distance of the whales and yet assuring we got the best views. We would highly recommend using San Juan Safaris because of their knowledge of marine mammals in the San Juans as well as the great care of their passengers. My husband and I will surely be back!

Just came back from a thrilling, adrenaline filled whale watching tour on the smooth, fast "Kestrel" vessel... Our naturalist, Lauren and owner Brian were a lot of fun, informative and made the entire family experience terrific! We saw Minke Whales, Grey Whales, Bald Eagles, Harbor Seals and a rare Sea Lion!! Highly recommend!

A mid-size whale watching vessel, makes it easier to move around. This accommodates @ 40 passengers, making it easy to get from side to side. Whale watching is never a guarantee as no one knows where they will surface. Our crew worked diligently in trying to find Orca's and they were successful, although none were very close to our boat. I was shooting a 200mm F2.8 with a 2x tele-extender and my pictures are fair. Be prepared to be disappointed if they aren't right up alongside your boat. San Juan Safaris is a top notch run organization and is highly recommended, their staff is professional and knowledgeable and very friendly, enjoy your trip!
