We had the perfect day Whale watching! We saw 15 plus killer whales through out the 3 hour tour. The new Kestral boat was a blast to zoom around in the San Juan waters. Would HIGHLY recommend this trip to anyone visiting Seattle or Friday Harbor!

My wife and I were fortunate enough to make another trip to San Juan Island, which has become one of our favorite places to visit. We booked a whale watch tour with San Juan Safaris on their new boat Kestrel. The trip was fabulous! Captain Brian and naturalist Erik were terrific in getting us to places we could see orcas as well as porpoises, seals and eagles. We were outfitted with very nice coats and pants so we could be on the deck of the boat Kestrel, which Captain Brian directed to get us to where the whales were very quickly. Erik was great in offering many facts about the islands and the animals. All the staff was wonderful! We had a great time! Any trip to the San Juans must include a whale watch trip with San Juan Safaris. We always have a great time and always see amazing wildlife!

My granddaughter and I flew up to Friday Harbor with Kenmore Air and joined the afternoon whale watching tour. Lovely weather and high tourist season meant the boat was at capacity. There was someplace for everyone to sit or stand, or both as one's preference, with good viewing for all the way the boat is arranged. It did feel quite packed, to be honest, but that meant being among more happy people from all over. The naturalist on board answered every question with enthusiasm. We saw five whales for quite a long time. Blankets are provided for people who think a hot day means you won't need a coat (me!). We disembarked thinking how lucky we were seeing the orcas and what a great experience we'd had.
