We booked a whale watch through Eagle One as opposed to booking through our cruise ship, as the reviews were terrible for the ones though the ship. I was nervous about the timing as we weren't in port for very long, so if we were late returning the ship might leave without us. However, there was plenty of time for a fabulous tour, a walk around Ketchican and for us to return to the ship without any problems. I'm so glad we booked this tour. We had Capitan Jesse and Evan and they really made the trip memorable for us. They had great personalities, but were also very knowledgeable about marine life. Before our tour, they were already out scouting areas where we could view the whales, so when our tour began they knew right where we needed to go. No time wasted on trying to find where the whales were, they headed right to their location. We spent much time in this inlet. ALso for the number of whale watch companies that there are in Alaska, there weren't any other boats where we were....just a couple of kayakers. I have been on many whale watches and this was the best one, hands down. We were so close, my family and I were in awe. Jesse and Evan told us what to look for, paused for us to take in the sights, told us where to point the cameras. On our way back, we passed some other whales and we stopped to see them as well. Plenty of time to spare to get back to our ship in time to depart. I would 100% recommend this company and this tour.
