The chocolate gushes out of the fountain head, cascades down the kettles, then settles in the swirling chocolate pool. And by the way, if you're tempted by the luscious smell to sample some of the flowing melted candy, please don't. The chocolate waterfall is for your visual enjoyment only. The store has plenty of delicious chocolate at the candy counter to your left. And you can sample before you buy.

Alaska Native Medical Center Craft Shop
Visit the Alaska Native Medical Center (ANMC) – Ok, so if you're not native, you might think you would have no reason to visit ANMC, but you'd be wrong. At this hospital you will see one of the largest collection of Native Art from all around Alaska that represents over 227 federally recognized tribes in Alaska and rivals anything you will see in a museum. In fact, the collection is probably better. Here you will get a true flavor of Alaska’s rich Native history and learn about ANCSA. There's also a Native craft gift shop that will make you drool... They only mark up the art by 20 percent unlike the 150 percent markup you find downtown. And if you choose to purchase, wouldn't you feel good knowing that the proceeds from your purchase go to improve healthcare? Yeah, we thought so. Often there are Native Artisans on-sight selling their wares and even Native foods. Craft shop is closed on Saturday and Sunday and is only open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Tour description misleading. Took us to 3 tourist shops (chocolate, ulu, & meats) and a couple of scenic spots. Did not take us to anything owned/run by Alaska Natives, and nothing connected to native heritage/culture, though the description said they would, and several in the van pointed that out. Also the “history” given was the one-sided Western view, (Yay, the US bought us from Russia! Yay, we became a state! The natives were so lucky about the ANCSA deal of money for land/oil rights!) << None of that is the full picture and all of it erases the true experience of Alaska Natives who were kept in the dark or away from the table in 2 of those 3 decisions, and taken advantage of in the 3rd. (The US made back everything they paid out for land/oil rights, and billions more within 2 years.) If you’re going to give history, please balance the story. And a city tour should hit the important spots in the city (Anchorage Museum, for example?! Native Heritage Center? How about the Native-owned Musk ox craft shop?) Scenery was great, guide was nice, but this tour was disappointing overall.

Thank you for joining us on our Anchorage City Tour. We are sorry the tour did not live up to your expectations. We work hard to try and provide a balance of different experiences throughout Anchorage in a short time. We try to focus on the positive aspects of ANSA and its financial impact on the state and discuss an overall view of Alaska's history. You did see an example of handmade Alaskan-made ULU knives at the ULU factory and get a sample of traditionally smoked Alaskan salmon at Alaska Sausage and Seafood. Unfortunately, the Alaska Native Hospital exabit is closed due to Covid and the Native Heritage Center is only open on select days during the winter. The museum is not on our tour because it is within walking distance of downtown Anchorage. We thank you again for taking the tour and appreciate you taking the time to leave feedback.

Excellent service from Joe who has been there since inception back in 1989. If you snub this place as just being another American chain restaurant, then think again. I had the lunch grilled salmon. So tender and flavorful, with mashed and excellent Cole Slaw. My friend had the all you can eat shrimp special. The shrimp were prepared in various ways, all extremely fresh and tasty. I did taste a few! Those cheese buns too are as good as ever. Yes pricing has soared, but this great seafood spot should not be overlooked,

The tour was very informative. Gave us extra time to explore and shop at the stops. Great thing to do if you have no idea where to go.
