When visiting Boston, the Freedom Trail is a must-do activity, but why not see historic sites while drinking beer? Join Ye Olde Tavern Tours to see 10 sites on the Freedom Trail-including the site of the Boston Massacre and the Old State House-and grab a drink at 3 historic taverns. Beer and/or hard cider is included in the ticket price, so all you need to do is show up ready for fun.

Our guests want a unique and memorable way to learn about Boston's revolutionary (and drunken) history and for the past ten years, we have delivered. Our guides are expertly-trained historians who are also incredibly personable. Our founder, owner, and frequent tour guide has a PhD in American history and is a two-time author. We know our stuff and are passionate about sharing the most interesting stories.

We cap each tour at 12 people to provide an intimate experience. Ye Olde Tavern Tours is the most fun and social way to experience Boston!

I took a tour on Friday, 11/08/2019 with Elizabeth. I'm a local, so I booked it for myself and family that were not from the U.S. Elizabeth was one of the finest tour guides I've listened to - she brought the pre-Revolutionary War era of Boston to life with stories and media. I thoroughly enjoyed the tour and learned new things about my own city - and of course, had some tasty local beers as well. The tour itself is well-organized; chairs are waiting for you at each pub along the way and there was a good mix of walking, listening, and drinking.

Our tour guide, Kristen, brought to life a side of the American Revolution my history lessons gleaned over for some obvious reasons. I had no idea Hutchinson and some beer soaked Bostonians were the kindling for the revolutionary fire that would be lit in Boston. Passionate storytelling with well coordinated beer breaks was a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Huzzah!

Kristen was an exceptional tour guide. She is a bright and energetic person. My wife and I learned so much in just a few short hours and have a few beers too. My only suggestion would be to offer chips or pretzels at each stop.
