Kirk, the driver and tour guide was fantastic. He was informative and funny. He slowed down at popular spots to take pictures.
I really wanted to see Lombard Street and the Painted Sisters. To see Lombard street from the tour route, you would need binoculars. To see the Painted Sisters, you needed to get off and walk two blocks. I do realize that it is a hop on and hop off tour, however in other cities, you hop off if you want to further explore the specific location, you don’t have to hop off and walk two or three blocks to actually see the attraction. If the brochures highlighted that we couldn’t specifically see those locations while staying on the bus, we would have opted for another vendor.
The stop at the Golden Gate Bridge offered sufficient time to take pictures.
Overall it did allow us to learn lots of interesting things about the city and would recommend the tour if you realize you do have to hop off to see a lot of the attractions.
