Great tour if you want to see a lot in just a few days. You see the best historic sights of Philadelphia and the best known places in Washington. The trip to Amish country was interesting. However I had expected to meet these people in person and find out about their way of living. In fact you just get to do a buggy ride and are dropped off at a local market where the Amish don't go themselves. We were lucky to go to a coffee corner ourselves where some of the Amish boys and girls came for icecream. Here we took sme great pictures. Trade secret.
Covered the major sights and it is worth staying overnight due to the amount of driving involved. A great snapshot. Perhaps a bit rushed in Philadelphia, but there is a lot to fit in!
The tour was great as was the guide. However at the end of the tour the guide gave us the "compulsory" speech about tipping as "you are Australians who are unaccustomed to tipping". We had already decided to tip, but her speech was confusing and my husband reduced the tip to what he thought the guide asked for. However I thought he got it wrong. Her request was 20% of what we paid for the tour each which would split 3 ways. The driver and another guide, who was on the tour for the Hebrew/Spanish speaking passengers. Given the price of the tour and the comments that tipping was optional I was disappointed by the request. All that being said the tour was very good
