Suitable for all physical fitness levels
You MUST arrive 15 minutes prior to boarding to check in. We leave promptly at the scheduled time and cannot wait. When booking travel to the island please make sure to give enough time from arrival to island to get to tour departure location.
We are located on Catalina Island, You must secure transportation to the island to take the tour. There are no refunds if you miss the tour.
TRAVEL TO CATALINA IS NOT INCLUDED. Transportation needed by Ferry to Island.

Catalina Island

As you venture ten miles into the rugged interior, you will view the protected side of Catalina Island seldom seen by most visitors. Have the chance to encounter wildlife such as bison, deer, bald eagles, ravens, or even the Catalina Island fox. There is a photo opportunity around every turn as we climb to the Airport-in-the-Sky. At this stop, visit the Nature Center and peer down at one of Catalina’s original Native American gathering sites. The fee to the Catalina Island Conservancy directly supports the preservation of the animals, endangered species, and endemic plants on Catalina Island. Tours leave from The Cabrillo Mole. **we highly suggest you secure transportation to Catalina island prior to booking tour to confirm you can get to the tour as the boat to the island sells out quickly. Catalina Express or Newport Flyer for your transportation needs.

Our 2-hour tour across Catalina Island was wonderful. The tour guide was very informative, the sites were beautiful and what I had hoped to see, and I would recommend it to others. The only drawback to this was that we did this at the end of January, and I didn't realize that we were going to go 1,600 ft up in elevation. It was very cold! I was not dressed for the activity, and we were riding in the back of an open tour vehicle. I would just say that if you are going to be doing this tour anytime between November and April, bring warm coats and hats even if you don't think you'll need it!

This was a great way to see Catalina outside of the confines of Avalon. The tour truck was open air, had 10 rows of so of seats, and was covered (each seat fits 2 with seatbelts). The trip started in Avalon and worked its way up through the town, offering bits of trivia along the way. The heart of the tour starts when you get outside of town and get on the roads tourists don't have access to. The views along the coast were stunning, any where from hundreds to up to 2,000 feet above sea level (I believe the peak height was somewhere around there, but don't quote me on it). The rugged hills and fields were mostly void of any human structures (although you do pass a park, a house or two, and some private camps that are used for boy/Girl Scouts retreats) and were very beautiful. The tour works its way to the Catalina airport, where the truck stops for 15 minutes and allows you to go to the bathroom, visit a gift shop and eat some bison chili! Wildlife spotted included lots of birds, a few bison, and the famous Catalina foxes which were pretty adorable. All in all this tour is a must for anyone who wants to see some of what the island has to offer outside of Avalon. The staff was very friendly, and Sal the guide was so much fun, lots of laughs!
