Most surf schools will get you to stand up your first time surfing. They all say so. And for your typical surf instructor, it’s easy to get someone on their feet. Here at our Surf School, we teach you how to actually read & ride a wave, starting from your very first lesson. Reading waves and knowing where to be are the most crucial aspects of surfing. Fostering the knowledge of the ocean is how you truly develop the ability to become a real surfer.

That being said, if surfing is something you want to kick off the bucket list or to do on vacation with friends or family, no one on our team has taught this sport for less than 5 years. Our focus is getting you to surf not just anywhere on the wave, but on the best, most fun part of the wave.

We are 100% the only surf school that custom-makes their boards (made in California) specifically for optimal learning as a beginner or intermediate. We have the warmest, cared for wetsuits, and we're all American Red Cross certified!

Me and my son had a great lesson with Jeff today. He’s very a experienced surfer and provided a fab intro to surfing. Loved our 2 hour session, will be back!

I took a surf lesson with Jake of Badass Surf and had a blast. It’s always good to have company in the water, tips on balance, foot positioning, reading the waves, encouragement and support. Jake gave me all of that in one lesson and I look forward to the next our next paddle out! Jake is kind, light hearted, fun to be around. He loves the ocean and thrives off of seeing his students perform in the water. He’s knowledgeable and can translate his surf experience clearly and simply for beginners. It’s very clear that he loves his job. Highly recommend Jake as surf instructor!

This was my “second” time taking a surf lesson - I did a yoga and surf session years ago. But I can’t emphasize enough how much I learned in my lesson with Damien! Not only did I get up several times, but he taught me which waves to take and how to pop up properly. His enthusiasm is contagious - I seriously had so much fun while feeling confident about learning to surf. Their prices are reasonable too. If you’re looking for a surf lesson, look no further than Badass Surf School.
