Expect there to be crowds…extreme crowds. Even though this boat carries only ~15 passengers, you will end up snorkeling with so many boatloads of people that you’ll see more flippers than fish. The guys who operate the boat were very pleasant and the borrowed gear was well maintained and fitted to each person. Keep in mind not a snack or drop of water are provided during your trip, so byo. Very different than the hospitality we have experienced when snorkeling in other waters with various outfits where the aquatic life was abundant and we didn’t feel like we were mostly there to help pay someone’s rent. Maybe this is a necessary outcome of Maui’s mass consumerism, but I miss the Aloha of yesterday.
