We weren't quite sure what to expect. It turned out to be quite a wonderful experience. We left the The View Hotel with a lovely young woman who gave us an explanation of the first half of the tour.....she was friendly, sincere and laughed a lot with us. Then we transferred vehicles and went off with a young man....we think his name was Steve. He actually grew up in Monument Valley. He showed us where he played as a child, the great rocks he climbed and told us all sorts of stories of the Navejo nation's history., He took us to areas that you cannot see from the road, and we were show petroglyphs and special ceremonial arches and niches in the large rock formations. Every questions we asked was met with sincere answers. He had a great sense of humour and we spent a lot of time laughing and joking. He was as interested in our traveling stories as we were of his experiences. There was no hard sell of trinkets and crafts, although we stopped at a few places set up for tourists. We were the only two on the tour, so when the wind picked up and we got pelted with sand he invited us to sit in the cab of his truck. The three hour tour started from 3:00 pm until 6:00pm when the sun was going down. The light is fantastic for photos and the cooler autumn weather made for a pleasant experience. We highly reccomend this company and time of year to go. Thanks to all who made our day special!
The tour was fantastic and our tour guide John was very informative and accommodating!! We want to do this again in the spring!
The staff was very accommodating when we ran behind schedule and almost immediately booked us on a later tour after I emailed them to inform them of the delay. Now, that's what I call service. They also made an effort to find someone as a tour guide who could communicate with us dyet to our hearing loss. The tour itself was spectacular, as you would expect from this region. The non-public parts are well worth it, and the price for a family of four was very reasonable. Highly recommended.
