I try not to write bad reviews, but we were rather disappointed in this tour. Our guide/driver, an older man, talked in a very fast, low mumble, slurring his words together and sometimes swallowing the end of a sentence. Also, the audio system in the van wasn’t very good. We missed at least 50% of what he said, and we don’t have hearing problems! If you did have hearing problems or were a non-native English speaker, forget it. Other issues: the van was boiling hot, windows wouldn’t open, and he didn’t turn on the a/c until one of us asked him to, about 20 minutes in. We spent at least 45 minutes sitting in a horrendous traffic jam in Edgartown (the tour organizers should know not to even go there), and perhaps because of that, we only had 15-20 minutes at Gay Head — barely enough time to look at the cliffs, use the restroom and buy refreshments, but we couldn’t really look in the shops. A longer stop in Menemsha would have been nice, too, since there were some attractive shops there. I also would have liked to stop at either the Chilmark General Store or Alley’s.
