We were disappointed not to be able to see Chapel and think this should have been mentioned at the time of booking that it was closed. But guide was excellent and made up for it.
I would recommend this tour. Some of the detail I had forgotten and some was new.
John our guide was gracious with an enviable knowledge of the city and a personal connection to 9/11 which made the difference to his walking tour. He challenged you to ask yourself how would you go on after such an attack? He showed you how New Yorkers have survived and how a city still recovers but marches on. It was a very thought provoking tour.
We arrived late just as he was taking our group to St Paul's Church but he quickly sorted us out and we joined the group. We all agreed we could have walked on with him all day, a testament to the passion he has for his job and his city.
I can't pick out any one particular part of the tour as it was all very relevant to each part however the reflection pools were quite emotional and learning how the architect intended the pools to present was beautiful and thoughtful.
We opted to add the One World Observatory Entrance and were not disappointed, we had a sensational day where the skies were blue and you could literally 'see forever' it is definitely worth doing.
Thanks again John for 'your' tour, you bought so much character to it we doubt we would have enjoyed this with anyone but you.
