Spent yesterday traveling through the Navajo Nation to Antelope Canyon from Sedona. I was a bit concerned about the length of this day- 12 hours door to door - with several stops; Horseshoe Bend, Navajo Market, Lunch in Page, Antelope Canyon, etc. I shouldn’t have worried. Every moment was beautiful and inspiring. Even the moments driving. Our guide, Steve, taught me more about geology, history, Native American culture in this one day then I learned in all of my formal education years. He was brilliant and I loved learning about what I was seeing as we drove along. He introduced me to a an elderly Native American woman at the Market who was weaving a stunning rug. She has been weaving her whole long life and has 3-4 years of commissioned work still to go. Talking to this gentle artist from a different way of life was a highlight for me. Steve also told corny jokes which kept us laughing (and his play list rocked). Antelope was stunning but it was only one of many stunning moments I experienced this day. Thanks Steve!
