My wife and I were traveling across southwest USA, we camped at Grand Canyon and took a side trip to Sedona. We were driving through the main street in town to park and walk through stores. Well we saw signs referring to "Free Parking" everywhere, and we didn't see ones I could easily park in with my full size pick up, with which I pull our fifth wheel. On the other side of the street there are angular spots and other large vehicles parked there. So we went to end and headed on the other side and parked in a spot. i looked around and everything looked good, I was centered properly and did't stick out, I moved my mirrors in and we started toward side walk, there are no parking meters or signs by curb, plus all the signs we saw said "Free Parking". So we walked up and down and checked out the shops, it was oveer 100 degrees, so we decided to head back. Well we got in and buckled up and on the wal in small print it says to go to kiosk and pay for parking? WTF , then we look on our windshield and BAM! $60, what a surprise for us retirees to be hit with this type of Entrapment. We paid our bill like most respectful Americans, but this should be illegal. Does Sedona have to trap people to pay money? We paid you $60, but I guarantee you will never ever see me or anyone I can warn. We ended up going back to Williams Arizonia and made purchases there for our grandkids and had a much better time. Plus, they had some of the same items as Sedona. Atmosphere was more friendly also.
