Horseshoe Bend

Horseshoe Bend is the intimate Grand Canyon experience (although technically located in Glen Canyon.) The trailhead to this 3/4 mile hike is located just outside of Page, Arizona. It overlooks one of the most spectacular views on the Colorado River, 4 miles south of the Glen Canyon Dam, and 7 miles north of mile zero of the Grand Canyon.

The canyon was beautiful, but we also enjoyed the other stops on the trip. One thing to note at Antelope Canyon is that you are required to scale large sand dunes to exit the canyon. This is not like walking a 150 degree incline as the Navajo guide mentioned before entering, as it is sand which shifts under your feet as you climb. So practice your beach walking before going. We went to a Indian trading post to shop, Horseshoe Bend, and Glen Canyon Dam. I could have used more time at the dam, but time at the other stops was perfect. Lunch at the restaurant was good and an excellent bathroom stop. Brian was a fabulous tour guide that provided lots of information along the way.

Best tour and guide ever! Kurt was a fantastic guide with so much just history and knowledge he shared along our ride to Horseshoe Bend and antelope Canyon. Would recommend this to everyone, worth the cost. Would love to come back and would definitely tour with tour company again!

Kurt was the best tour guide! Our Navajo tour guide, Lillian, was an exclamation point for our experience. Both tour guides were knowledge, accommodating and very personable. Memories for a lifetime. This is a have to do for anyone visiting Sedona.
