A sobering reminder of the realities of war, the Arlington National Cemetery is a beautiful tribute to over 400,000 service members and their families buried there. Learn about the more famous tombs, like that of President John F. Kennedy. Explore a few surprising graves, like that of famed boxer Joe Louis. The cemetery is even home to memorials commemorating the disasters of space shuttles Columbia and Challenger. Along with a few carefully selected residents like Audie Murphy, your guide will take you to the Tomb of the Unknowns where you may even witness a Changing of the Guard ceremony. Walk these hallowed grounds to learn how the home of Robert E. Lee, whose Arlington House we’ll visit, became one of the country’s largest national cemeteries.

I had seen Arlington before as a student in high school but this experience with a very knowledgeable guide was simply amazing! There is so much history and tradition that will be missed without the help of an experienced guide. Not to mention the size of the grounds and the need to prioritize. Our personal guide was Donna and she was everything you can hope for. Her knowledge of the site and her love and passion for our fallen made the experience special! We highly recommend a guided tour and if you can request Donna! You won't be disappointed.

Arlington is not very self-explanatory. We went on a semi-private tour with Scott. He was delightful and we learned a lot more about the cemetery than we would have on our own. He was full of great stories and excellent at maneuvering this large expanse. He shared a lot about the space constraints and what Arlington is doing to try and help prevent running out of burial space. He shared an app that allowed us to find our family member in the cemetery and visit the grave site. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and be ready to walk some hills!

Arlington was amazing and our tour guide Doug did a good job. His information was really awesome he told a lot about the soldiers that buried on Arlington of the Civil War and some important people that was buried there. Thanks Doug for the al information.
