There is no better way to DISCOVER and EXPLORE Asheville! Hop-on board one of Gray Line’s nostalgic trolleys for a fully narrated journey, highlighting the history, homes, hang-outs and hot spots of this “city of surprises.” The complete tour (one loop) lasts approximately 90 to 100 minutes. There is an additional 15 minute stop at the Asheville Visitor Center.

Tour Highlights include Downtown Asheville, Montford Historic District, The Grove Park Inn and Grove Park Historic District, Thomas Wolfe District, Pack Square and Asheville Art Museum, Grove Arcade, River Arts District, and South Slope Brewing District

Trolley hours vary by season. April - October (daily, every 30 minutes), November (daily, every 60 minutes), December - February (Mon, Thurs, Fri, Sat, every 60 minutes), March (daily, every 60 minutes). *Please Note: Final departures are for re-boarding passengers only.

We try to take part in sightseeing tours any time we visit a new city. Recently while in Asheville for 24 hours, we decided to take the Gray Line trolley tour and are so glad that we did. This is a great way to get a quick history of the city and to see things that you might otherwise miss. The trolley drivers are outstanding. In particular, Michael and Mark were great! They shared tons of anecdotes and Asheville history while weaving in a lot of humor. We jumped off the trolley on several spots. The River Arts District was a real stand-out for us...as was downtown Asheville. If you visit the River Arts District, check out Ultra Coffee Bar for good coffee and awesome avocado toast! Gray Line Trolley Tours of Asheville is worth every penny...it's a must do!

We’ve been to Asheville before but there are still points of interest that we hadn’t seen. The trolley allows you to see the city’s neighborhoods without driving or walking around. And the drivers provide a lot of information about each area.

The tour was very interesting! The length of 1 1/2 hours was perfect. The driver/narrator (Matt) was outstanding. He was very knowledgeable and engaging. He seemed genuinely thrilled to be sharing the information about Asheville with us. There is much beauty in Asheville, and the tour included many scenic areas, not just the historic downtown. We saw much more than we would have, either walking or driving ourselves. The fact that Matt, the driver, is a native of Asheville was a "plus," since he included personal anecdotes as he shared the historical information. I had been to Asheville several times but had never taken the trolley. I learned so much about the history of the town to appreciate. The trolley kept us moving at a great pace, with a few stops along the way for optional walking and re-boarding. That said, the trolley did not have to wait for the re-boarding--another trolley would come arrive every 30 minutes to pick up those who got off the trolley to walk a bit. It was a GREAT setup. I HIGHLY recommend.
