We took the ghost walking tour. Our guide, Brian was knowledgeable and well spoken. I appreciate his enthusiasm. It was like other ghost tours, but it also stuck with the overall vibe of Asheville.
Brian was friendly and spoke loudly so that everyone could hear, without sounding like a crazy man yelling at a group of folks walking around in the dark.
The tour took us through a part of Asheville I had never really explored so that was nice, and I have new places to visit soon.
The tour is dog friendly! Our Stanley seemed to growl at some things I didn’t sense, so it added to the overall experience.
We have never done here this despite going to Asheville many times, and our son living there during college. It was nice to walk about on a brisk fall night, under a mostly full moon. So, it’s fun even for sople who frequent the area.
There is a full 2 hours of standing and walking. Not sure I would have done this with children under a certain age, because I would have heard, ‘I’m bored’ or ‘when can we leave’ a hundred times. But the dog was well behaved, so if your child is like a four year old Labrador retriever, maybe they could spend the time sniffing out rabbits or seeing spectral beings that are unseen by adult eyes while peeing unnoticed, because no restrooms are available.
My only negative is the group size was too large, maybe 20 and a dog. It was by far the largest tour size I’ve taken like this, and not a fan of that dynamic. And, we went on a Wednesday night, so I assume that was a small size compared to weekends.
For the price- do it! Not many places to spend two hours for $25 in Asheville in the evenings.
