Due to covid we followed the tour person up a dirt road to the ranch in our own vehicle. Normal practice was to meet at the parking lot and be picked up by the tour operator and transported up the road to the ranch. The dirt road is passable in a regular car, but we were in a small SUV. Best part was all of the ranch animals. Horses, goats, peacocks, wild pigs, cats, chickens, and a dog. One horse was particularly friendly and came up to the fence to get petted and scratched. We rode on a 2 seater ATV. Some rode quads. It was extremely fun! Follow the rules, though. No speeding unless they tell you it's okay to go fast. Basically you follow a tour person along with a group of other people, and another tour person is in the rear. The grounds were wet from previous rain, and it also rained during the tour. Lightweight ponchos are provided. We did not use them though. The tour covers mountainous sections and you cross the road to go to the ocean side, where there is a stop point for photos at the ocean. It was a lot of fun. The two people who guided us are young and energetic, and very knowledgeable of the area. Helpful hints: DO NOT wear good clothes on this tour. Take a change of clothes. You could get either wet, dusty or muddy. Take a change of shoes....especially if you are driving a rental car......you will need them. Take a plastic bag to put your dirty, muddy shoes into. The mud does not come off easily. There are portable toilets at the ranch, but not on the trail, so use them before you head out. They provide water and soft drinks, and hand sanitizer. Overall a great experience!! Thank you Maui Mountain Activities!
