Excellent trip and Excellent Driver. There is no more to say
Total fabrication as to what is advertised on itinerary. Beware! They were 45 minutes late for pick up. We did not visit the zoo, bull ring, tower, or cultural center as advertised. Spent too long at rostria beach, when could spent time showing us other things on itinerary. Horses on beach had no shoes, emaciated, standing in blazing sun. They were digging holes in sand to try cool hooves off from burning sand. Mariachi singers sang for 3 minutes, if you don't pay they won't sing. Lunch at puerto Nuevo was big disappointment. It is not all u can eat beans, rice tortilla as advertised. We had to share what was given to us between four people. I didn't even know the other 3 people and I had to share from same plate! Lobster is very small, dry, over cooked. If you are hungry, lunch won't fill you! I looked on youtube and there are way better restaurants in puerto Nuevo, offering lobsters twice size as what we got! People were friendly enough, but after your money. Just non stop harassing for tourist dollar. Poor, dirty, depressed place. My biggest disappointment is that I felt ripped off by Viator tours for misleading us on the itinerary, and for disappointing lunch.
The tour we were taken on was not the tour we booked. In fact, the itinerary did not align with any other tour offered (it was not even close to the Ensenada Tour described either). We were supposed to leave the station at 9:00 AM---6 of 7 tour members had to wait until 9:35 for the last one to arrive. We stopped in Chula Vista for another group and waited in Van for 20 minutes before the guide came back and said we were at the wrong hotel. We went to the right hotel and started out for Mexico at 11:30. We did not stop in Tijuana for a cultural sightseeing tour, we did not stop in Puerto Nuevo for the "luscious lobster lunch, margaritas and mariachi music". We deadheaded straight for Ensenada and stopped only once at a coastal scenic outlook. We arrived in Ensenada and strolled down a boardwalk. The guide took us to lunch at a steak and eggs café that served breakfast only. When the group inquired about the tour they booked and the lunch in Puerto Nuevo, we left the café and he took us to a Mexican Buffet that was edible but nothing to praise. No beer, wine, margaritas. He then took us back to Rosarito Beach (after several inquiries from the group) and 2 tour members rode horses (that they paid for) on the beach while the remaining 10 members hung out and purchased drinks. Next, the guide took us to Tijuana to a wax museum (are you kidding?) that charged entrance fee and closed in 25 min. We hung out in Tijuana shopping district until the tour guide thought the wait at the border would be minimal. Most of the tour group spent the majority of time in Tijuana on the bus waiting to head back. It was the most disorganized and unprofessional experience ever! Tour guide was nice---not his fault but I am shocked the company is in business!
