We had Wilton as our tour guide which I'm assuming is the HUGE disconnect between our experience and the reviews of others. Wilton had no knowledge of the area. He was neither a naturalist nor a photographer. For example, we started in Kamokila Village where we were told "I don't know anything about this village, but there's signs for you to read". This got my antenna up, but it was early. Then, as we're loading the kayaks, he leans into my son's roommate and says, "you sure are pretty!". To say the poor girl was creeped out is an understatement (and he was just warming up with her). We know NOTHING of the river or its surrounding history, but more than we ever wanted to know about Wilton's personal details. He spent the entire tour trying to impress (pick-up) our guest. I titled this review with the feedback I personally gave Wilton, but think it went over his head. The pictures were what a timed camera on a rock at the waterfall caught while he frolicked in the water with the guests. This is NOT a kayak tour... it is a rugged hike into the beautiful Kauai forest so come prepared (we were thinking mostly kayak with a bit of hiking, but it's the opposite). I'd ask for our money back if I ever wanted to speak with anyone in this operation again. I've been on many tours in my lifetime and whomever thinks Wilton is a professional is SORELY mistaken. The owner was there that day (hiding in the shadows - his buddies pointed him out to us), but chose to have Wilton give us the tour. PLEASE Trip Advisor, can I give this "Adventure" a ZERO?
