Maybe it was when we went, but we were disappointed that we weren't allowed to go on the field, in the home team's locker room, home team's dugout, or in the Hall of Fame.
The tour was over-priced at $22. Our tour guide was good and knowledgeable, but the tour itself was disappointing, The field was being re-sodded, so we couldn't go on the field (I get that), the Padre's locker room was off limits because the players like to keep that area private (don't reporters go in there???), we only got to sit in the visitor's dugout (the Padre's dugout would have been better for photo ops), and the Hall of Fame was being repainted, so all of those things were off-limits during our tour.
Overall, I felt very let down. Either don't offer tours when so much wasn't available, or offer a discount. I did hear one of the gals selling tickets tell a season ticket holder that they had to pay for their tour tickets because "the Padres don't give away anything for free". Sounds like the owners are money-hungry.
